Cocoa BBQ Chicken Legs

Preparation

STEP 1

First, make the sauce; combine all the ingredients except for the chicken in a medium saucepan and bring to a simmer. Simmer, stirring occasionally and making sure the bottom doesn’t burn, for 30 minutes. Let cool.

STEP 2

Season chicken with a little salt and pepper on both sides and place a cooking rack on a foil-lined baking sheet.

STEP 3

Pre-heat broiler.

STEP 4

Slather the sauce on both sides of the grilled chicken and broil for 5-7 minutes per side until slightly charred.

STEP 5

Adjust oven temperature to 350°F and slather more sauce on the chicken. Bake for 15 minutes or until a meat thermometer reads 165°F.

  • 2 Tablespoons honey
  • 2 Tablespoons apple cider vinegar
  • ½ teaspoon chili powder
  • ¼ teaspoon dry mustard
  • ½ teaspoon Pereg garlic powder purchase
  • ½ teaspoon Pereg onion powder purchase
  • ¼ teaspoon Pereg cayenne pepper purchase
  • ½ teaspoon Pereg smoked paprika purchase
  • ½ teaspoon Pereg Red Sea salt purchase
  • ½ teaspoon Pereg ground black pepper purchase
  • 10 chicken legs
