- StoveTop: Ina small saucepan boil 1 3/4 cups of water. Add 1/2 tbsp of olive oil, and the contents of the basmati rice bag. Lower heat, cover, and simmer for 13 minutes. Remove from heat and let stand covered for 7 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.Microwave: Place contents of basmati rice bag in a microwave-safe container. Add 1 3/4 cups water, cover loosely. Cook on high for 15 minutes. Let stand for 5 minutes. Fluff with a fork before serving.
